That Tofu Thing

We were recently given a new tofu press to try out  called That Tofu Thing. Tofu is one of our family's favorite thing to eat. We go through several blocks a week and press multiple blocks at a time. In the beginning, we would press our tofu using books and paper towels but never felt good about wasting paper towels.

A short time later, we purchased our first tofu press that had two pressing plates with two screws at each end that you would crank to press the plates together and squeeze the tofu. That one worked for awhile but we always seemed to crank it to much and split the tofu block.

That Tofu thing is similar to our first tofu press, but is designed much better and is more effective. It even comes with it's own little storage bag. There is a single screw in the middle attached to a bracket in which two pressing plates fit inside. Special lattices on the inside of the pressing plates apply constant, and even pressure allowing for more water to escape compared

to solid panels. This results in a nicely pressed tofu block in about 15 minutes.

Although it is far superior our original 2 crank tofu press, we did find that we were still able to over press and break our tofu block. It just takes a little bit of time to learn the right amount of cranking that can be done before the tofu block splits.

That Tofu Thing is made with quality materials including a sterile plastic called acetal and is manufactured in the UK. We've had ours for a couple of months now using it at least 3 times a week. It's holding up really well and does a great job every time.

You can't go wrong with this press. That Tofu Thing offers a 30-day money back guarantee, free shipping and a lifetime warranty against breakage in normal use.
